Research and ensure this is EXACTLY what you want to do.

Sure, get insurance to pay for it if you can....you've been paying for your policy all these years, right?

But if they don't ... don't let that stop you.

This was the best $7,000 I ever spent in my life.

Hi Nazzy-My surgery is 2/11/08-After researching the lap band on my own for about 2 years I simply called the Bariatric center and scheduled an appt with the surgeon. I was told I needed to get a "letter of necessity" from my primary Dr. and progress notes showing my weight for the last 5 years. This was submitted to my insurance co UHC on a Monday and I was approved for surgery 3 days later. It all depends on your insurance carrier as to how fast the process will go I assume. I hope your process goes well. Keep us informed.
