your surgery date will be given to you probably when you finish your pre op testing. Gotta make sure everything comes back good.

Will that be weeks or months after pre assessment

correct. They need the pre op testing stuff first to make sure you can have the surgery. Sometimes test come back with issues. Mine did. My EKG came back abnormal. I had to see a cardiologist to get clearance for surgery and to get that clearance i had to get a nuclear stress test done.

It depends on if you're going through insurance. You have to meet their requirements before they approve surgery. Some insurance requires 6 months supervised weight loss before being approved for surgery. Your surgeons office has probably already ran your insurance and are aware of what the requirements are. So give them a call and ask the inurance specialist what you're required to do and ask for a timeline. They can probably help you better than we can, since it varies so much from insurance to insurance and surgeon to surgeon. Some surgeons are booked far out with their surgery dates.

It varies so much between practices. I didn’t even have a pre assessment. You will get a much better idea of a timeline if you talk to the insurance coordinator for your surgeon.
