Left shoulder pain

Help, I am 6 1/2 weeks post op and continue to experience left shoulder pain almost every day for 2-5 hours. I don't know what brings it on, happens before OR after eating. And I haven't figured out what to do to get it to go away. I tried Ibuprophen, tylenol, heat, massage, standing, sitting, laying.

Any ideas? My doctor said maybe there was some swelling under the diaphragm that causes the refered pain but didn't know why, said the surgery went perfectly?

Have I traded one problem for another?

I had a brief episode of pain in my left shoulder yesterday. I took a GAS-X and the amount of gas that came up and out and down and out was amazing. Every little bit eased the shoulder even more and within 15 minutes it was all gone. I think the gas presses on a nerve that runs to the shoulder. Just my opinion, no factual knowledge but it worked and I will remember that in the future.
