  1. Help, I am 6 1/2 weeks post op and continue to experience left shoulder pain almost every day for 2-5 hours. I don't know what brings it on, happens before OR after eating. And I haven't figured out what to do to get it to go away. I tried Ibuprophen, tylenol, heat, massage, standing, sitting, laying. Any ideas? My doctor said maybe there was some swelling under the diaphragm that causes the refered pain but didn't know why, said the surgery went perfectly? Have I traded one problem for another? Diane:help:
  2. I am a nurse too, SICU, we often have to pull up patients in bed who weigh much more than me. So I talked my doctor to writing a note for 6 whole weeks off. It is the best thing I could have imagined. I am able to walk everyday, rest when I need to, enjoy the fall. I am still having trouble figuring out what I can eat, just had a tiny portion of meat loaf and potatoes, threw it up about 15 minutes later. Don't go back to work too soon!
