I was staring to swim some before I had surgery, and now, maybe because of the dehydration, I am CRAVING getting into the pool. I'll ask my doctor on Monday, but I'm just curious, how long was it until you guys were "cleared for swimming" (or baths, etc.).

Your sutures have to be completely closed. You do not want any bacteria getting into the wounds.

He's local.. I'll definitely ask him on Monday... I was just curious. =) I will probably wait until he SEES them and gives me the "ok". I'm just really looking forward to it.

My Doctor wouldn't let me even take a bath for 6 weeks! Showers only!

Showers only here too until the incisions were completely closed and no scabing. I have a pool in my yard and naturally it got nice and warm right after my surgery so I really wanted to go in but couldn't.
