I did my 2-week pre-op liquid diet twice: the first time the surgery was cancelled the night before (Covid); the second time was right before my actual surgery. I was elated to be on the liquid diet both times because it brought me that much closer to my visions of a better life!

How did u do 2 weeks of a liquid diet I start mine Wed until surgery

I start mine on Wednesday for 2 weeks as well! All I get is protein shakes and clear fluids. Let's do it together!!

I was supposed to have done all this last month and I was so psyched and happy to get started on the diet. Now I'm just angry and stressed out with all the delays and ruined holidays. (I also have to quarantine 2 weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after.) Plus I've gained 6lbs. since last month.

  • Protein shakes and powders for protein goals. There are MANY brands, so experiment. Drink 3-4 a day or as your clinician prescribed.
  • Sugar-free popsicles and sugar-free jello for treats.
  • Broth for variety and flavor.
  • Protein water if you need additional protein.
  • Water, water, water. Drink 64 oz a day or more.
  • You can add flavor packets to your water, such as Snapple, Wylers, Crush, Hawaiian Punch, Crystal Light. (I buy them at the dollar store.)

The first week is the hardest because you are feeling withdrawal symptoms. The second week is easier.
