Tick tock tick tock ... surgery is approaching

Recommended Posts

Greetings all: Just signed up. I had my pre-op class this week. Have an endoscopy scheduled for next week and I'm waiting on more medical records. Then, pre-op labs and scheduling. I may get on the surgeon's calendar before 15 November. I'm a 65 year old male living in the land of the Rolling Tide! I'll spend more time on this forum in the next few days and weeks but wanted to say hello for now.

Hi SandyShores! It sounds like things are moving along! I had the surgery last year at age 68 and don’t regret it for a second!

Welcome! It'll change your life. You'll feel twenty years younger a month or so out from surgery... you see if you don't.

Just mind all them absolutely delicious Southern dishes... we do love to sneak those calories in! I don't think I ate a vegetable without meat the whole time we stayed in Georgia. 🤣

I loss 19 pounds my first 7 days post op 🙌🏽 (Water weight or real weight.. weight is weight to me.. I’ll take it lol) I make sure I keep my water with me 24.7 and I walk every chance I get. I cook dinner for my kids with no problems. I have zero cravings!  By next week I should be in the 200’s. Haven’t been there since high school 🥲

Well, starting day 2 after surgery. Felling hunger pains again this morning and nausea, no vomiting. I think the hunger pains are coming from my stomach and not my pouch. Think I will call their hotline and speak with them about it. It is not terribly bad but it is uncomfortable. I do not regret getting the surgery though. I expected some discomfort right after, I just didn't expect the hunger pains.

I have two initial consultations coming up. November 30th I am traveling to Richmond Virginia to VCU and on December 2nd I am consulting with a bariatric surgeon in Salem Virginia.
Let's hope my insurance is good for this decision.
I wanted an extended tummy tuck but I cannot justify the out of pocket expense yet. Pray for me.
