Concern

Hey I made this account bevause I been snooping around to see if anyone has been experiencing what I’m experiencing. I since decided to make an account because I am about 2 weeks post op and today I noticed that the largest incision looks a little open. Idk if I moved to much and broke it or if it was scabbed and pealed off in my sleep. I panicked and put a bandaid over that piece and contacted my home nurse but I doubt I’ll get a response on the weekend. It’s not leaky or anything but the bandaid did have a little bit of blood not like a lot but enough to leave a dot on the bandaid. Should I be worried?

I agree with Dame21. I had one of my incisions (one of the smaller ones) open like that. My surgeon used this clear stitch glue stuff, so I never had any blood come out, but it did look like it bled just a little under the glue stuff. When I saw my surgeon for my next follow-up soon after, he said it looked fine. I think they just sometimes heal like that. So far, that is the darkest scar forming out of all of them. Like Dame said, just follow up with your doctor on Monday.

Sounds like the glue came loose. Happened to my big incision shortly after surgery.

I am sure this is alarming. I am glad I read this in case I experience the same

Yeah I think so too , did you go back to the doctor ?

I’ve had the same problem. I have had one spot that opened up very soon following surgery on August 3. It was a bit deep, so I have had to put a strip of packing in it and cover with a bandaid every day. This morning, it would only accommodate a very short piece of packing so it is definitely healing and growing smaller.
