Hey everyone.... I posted a thread with some pre-op questions but wanted to say hello to everyone. I am going to be banded on 12/17. I am very scared! I have two kids and I am sure I will be fine through surgery. I don't want to be a failure. I am having this surgery done, to hopefully send my disease (Psuedo tumor cerebri) into remission and to get all of this weight off. I have a ways to go I have about 180lbs that I would like to lose. I am feeling positive about it though. I have researched the gastric bypass for about 5 years and decided against it. I am partial to the band as it is not as invasive and if I get very ill it can be taken out! I see everyone talking about a pre-op diet. I am curious as to what this is. I am just supposed to be NPO after midnight but not eating a certain way. I would love to have some advice. My Dr. is well known for doing gastric bypass, but his first time doing the band on a actual human will be the morning of the 17th. I will be his third patient that day with a proctor standing by so I am confident everything will go fine. I would like any advice that I can get!:help:
