I was ready to get the sleeve done in January 2021, but changed my mind at the last minute and got the Orbera balloon instead. That was the biggest mistake and waste of money I’ve ever made. I’ve been nauseous for 2 months; nauseous like morning sickness nausea that would only be helped with eating crackers or bread or Soup. I’d eat and literally be starving a short time later. It did not reduce the amount of food I was able to eat either. My doctor wanted me to stick with it, and gave me all kinds of anti nausea medications, none of which helped. He said I could get the sleeve instead if I really wanted to but there needed to be a week in between removing the balloon and the sleeve surgery. I’m finally getting it removed in a couple of days, but he just told me I need to wait a whole month since the stomach wall can thicken when the balloon is in it due to constantly working to digest the balloon. I feel like he’s trying to talk me out of it since I’m just barely at a BMI of 30. Has anyone else heard of this?

PS I can’t figure out how to fill out my profile to add my height & weight stats, etc 🤦🏻‍♀️

I haven’t heard of it personally but, I don’t doubt what you’re saying either. I got the sleeve back in 2017 and the only thing I’ll say is: stick to what your doctor & dietitian says. No matter how much you crave the ‘bad stuff”. I wish you all the best!! 🤍🤍

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
