First 3 days post-op

For those who are interested in the experience of one recently banded, I got banded on Tuesday, Dec. 4th. That day I felt pressure, really no pain, just very woozy and light headed. I tolerated watered-down protein shake and water...even a little V-8. I HATE tomato juice, but it tasted so good!!! I took my liquid Vicodin on the 6-hour schedule. Sleeping on my side was impossible. On day 2, I wondered what I had done to myself. It hurt pretty badly, especially the port site. Right when I stood up, the pain was awful, then leveled out. (Pass the Vicodin:rolleyes) I had lots of gas bubbles, took crushed Beano before drinking, and Gas-X several times. It was a rough day.....Today, day 3, the pain has lessened, and I have not had Vicodin for 6 hours, just liquid Motrin. It still hurts right when I stand up, but then stops after a minute or so. I can tell everyday will get better. I am encouraged by all the posts where people say they are really glad they had it done, because yesterday, I was wondering!!! I do feel like a gas factory - with every sip, the bubbles start.

Everyday is progress and as I have been told about the gas situation is that it varies from person to person. Mine seems to be all gone after 2 weeks. You have definitely got past the worst part and you are on your way to a smaller you.

I was band on the 14th and I can hardly hold water down. I'm in so much pain and I'm wonering what the hell I did to myself. When will I be able to hold down anything???

I found that Gas-X Thin Strips were wonderful for the gas. I used them several times a day for the first week. Eventually the gas goes away. Just hang in there and let everything heal!
