Insurance submission

I'm super excited my doctor sent my information in on 1/7. I am praying it gets approved. I am super tired of poking myself with insulin and excited about my lifestyle change! I'm interested in hearing how long it took others to get approved and if you had any comorbidities?

It took me about 2 weeks for insurance approval. My BMI was 40 I think with GERD and Sleep Apnea as comorbidities

Thank you, the insurance said I should know by 1/22. I hope I get approved I have a BMI OF 44.5, type 2 diabetic and Gerd.

Hi! I'm having RNY surgery on 1/28/21. It took 7 days for me to get my approval. I have type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, and Gerd. Looking forward to having all of these comorbidities resolve soon! Good luck! I'm sure you will get approved.

Thank you for responding. Whew, your surgery is so close!!! Exciting!! Enjoy the new you!

My wife and I had surgery on 11/11. Submittal to insurance for us was on a Monday and by Friday of that week I was approved and by Wednesday of the following week my wife was approved as well. Once we had both approvals we were scheduled for surgery and started the 2 week pre-op diet only 2 days later. Congratulations on getting the requirements done and here is hoping that insurance will approve this for you.

Hello my doctor submitted my paperwork on December 23rd and I was approved by January 5th my surgery date is March 17th. Everything went pretty fast. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll be hearing from them in no time!

Thank you, I called today still pending. Hoping I can get a approval going into the weekend, My EGD is scheduled Monday hoping to have an approval before Monday, lol

Keep on top of them. I called every day just to get a status. So glad I did call they told me they approved me, I called my doctors office just to confirm they had the approval, the nurse said not yet, I was like ummm my insurance company said you did and she was like oh really let me check, and oh wow it was there she must have “missed” the email. I was scheduled right away so I am happy I stayed on their asses!
