It is a little late for this, but I'll tell you what I recommend for the benefit of others that prepare for their surgery. In February this year I adopted the post surgery regular diet. This was to make sure I'd be able to follow the diet after surgery. Pre-surgery weight loss was very high. When you drop fired food and soda you'd be surprised at how easy it is to drop weight quickly. I got the surgery in May. Observing a healthy diet with great nutrition meant I didn't have any fried food or soda for months before doing the liquid diet. My cravings changed. This made it much easier. You will find after not having these foods for a month or two you won't crave them anymore. Hang in there.

Fried food and sodas brought us obesity. Be strong and dismiss any thoughts of having these foods again. You have to make a lifelong nutrition change if you will be successful with your weight loss.
