Good morning. I am scheduled for Gastric Bypass RNY in September 15th. I’m told my thyroid medication can not be crushed or put into liquid form. I haven’t had my pre op yet but I will ask them. Just curious what others have done?? Thanks in advance!

I take Synthroid and it is a tiny little pill. I have had no issues taking it normally.

I am currently on nature throid. It’s a pretty small pill, as well. Maybe I’ll bring it into my surgeons office for my pre op and see what he thinks. Were you able to take it right away after surgery or did you have to wait?

I was able to take it right away after surgery. They actually gave it to me while I was in the hospital.

I take Synthroid, too, and they gave it to me in the hospital. No problems taking it.
