Week 3 Diet and Diarrhea

Hey there. I'm 18 days post-op from my gastric sleeve and started with some solid food yesterday. I had one scrambled egg at one meal and some flaky fish at another. I feel like I ate slow enough, it took me 30min to finish both portions. It gave me the runs yesterday and now today again with my one egg for breakfast was the same. Is this a normal thing when switching from the liquid stage?

  • I did go through that also, but now at almost 6 weeks out and I have the opposite problem. My only issue now is getting enough calories in each day.

embrace it while you have it lol.. when it flips the opposite direction its a lot more troublesome. i will say that it has been about 5 months since i have had to take anything other than the occasional fix.. so it seemed to regulate itself, but it can be tough.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just glad to know it's fairly normal to go through when transitioning from liquid only. I was so excited to have to chew something, but now I feel like going right back to soups!
