I was taking one stool softener every night and did not have a BM until day 7 post op. Maybe taking so many stool softeners was to blame, but I had the worst diaherria for a couple of days after that.

If you're on liquids then there's nothing to make a BM

For me it was about six days, and as Mikey said, there wasn't much to it because I was on liquids.

wow , that was a while ago. i dont know if i remember back that far. i do know i only went like once a week and constipation was a nightmare, i was taking miralax every few days and at some point just stopped taking it. it seems the more i exercise the more i go daily.

My surgeon had me take a stool softener after day 3. It worked (a little too well). Pain meds make you constipated. I did have to use a half dose of Miralax every few days fir the first few weeks. Important—get the sugars free Miralax. I git the cherry flavor which must of had sugar and it made me ill. I would call your surgeon and start with a half dose. Wait 12 hours then try another half dose.
