?C?mo es Grosero!

How Rude!!

I have spent the past few months researching surgeons for the band. I finally made my choice and am scheduled for 12/28.

yesterday I got an email from one of the pt coordinators for another doc-I replied-thank you for the info-i have chosen another doc and am scheduled.

WELL--I got an email back that came across VERY rude and condescending--WHY would I even think of having my surgery elsewhere, when I could get the same thing only better for $1000 less!(How would he know that--I didn't tell him WHO I was going to!)

Price was not my only consideration--yes I know there are some less expensive and some more. In fact, that very pt coordinator had quoted me a price that was $500 MORE.

I went by responses I got from people here and on other forums--researched everything I could find before I made my decision. I researched the doc, the hospital, the town, the hotel--I mean EVERYTHING! I also looked at average airfare $ for different destinations.

I am very comfortable with who I chose. I don't know whether to even reply to the pt coordinator-or just let it drop!

the pt coordinator I have been working with has been great--she has answered every question--even silly ones--and I have never felt pressured to make a decision. Even while I was still trying to decide whether to have the surgery--much less who.

The thing of it is-I don't even know where this guy got my name and email--I don't remember sending a request to his doc--but I may have-I sent several. And from what I have read hear-his doc is good. But if that is the attitude of the guy representing him--I wouldn't want anything to do with him!!

I would respond that price wasn't the consideration that caused you to go with another doctor, and that the attitude you received in the email you just got, confirmed that you are happy with your choice!

I ended up sending an email and telling him that I'm "sure" he didn't realize how rude and condescending his email had been. and that price was not the only deciding factor-but since he brought it up, the price he quoted me was higher than others I had investigated, etc. etc. etc.

I did receive back an email apologizing and wishing me luck on my surgery.
