Ours was basically the same as for a colonoscopy - clear liquids the day before surgery with a bowel prep/clean out in the afternoon/evening. The last is a bit of overkill for a VSG, but is understandable as their mainline procedure then was the DS where they are operating on the lower end of things.

Mine is one week. It's Full liquids with two servings of either fruit or veggies per day. They want me to make sure I get 80-90 g of Protein in per day.

My surgeon makes his patients buy Optifast drinks from his clinic. I suppose so we are "financially invested" in sticking to it. We could supplement with V8 and clear broths when we need a break from the sweet. I would sub Premier Protein drinks for the variety of flavors and cheated once with egg drop soup.
