Hi. I am officially 2 weeks post-op and have been experiencing over heating and vertigo spells. My blood pressure it is usually high following the spells. I never had any blood pressure issues before. My surgeon says it's normal as my body is struggling to find its new balance. Has anyone else has blood pressure issues following VSG??

Sorry to hear you're experiencing that! I had awful low blood pressure for about 6 weeks after my surgery. I would also get vertigo spells when standing up, and was generally just very low energy. My doctor advised me to religiously take my vitamins (which I wasn't doing because they upset my stomach) and drink more water. If I had a spell I should just drink chicken broth for some extra salt, and that worked wonders. Definitely talk to your doctor about this--they'll know what to do.

Yes, I just talked to my surgeon about this Tuesday. Mine was syncope or near syncope when standing up and I thought my blood pressure was getting too low and she said it's because my body needs salt/sodium and to add a little more to my diet.

a couple weeks post op I had issues with low blood pressure, if I took a hot shower without eating right before I would pass out in the shower. My surgeon said the same thing and I haven't had any issues like that since week 3.
