can i eat mushroom barley soup?

i know i can have mushroom.

Personally, I wouldn't eat barley on a liquid diet. You should be drinking Clear liquids on a liquid diet (Protein shakes, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello/puddings, yogurt, Water, broth, etc.) Even the mushroom soup should probably be pureed to get rid of any lumps.

It's not the lumpy factor so much as it may swell once it gets inside you.

I had 3 weeks of pre-surgery liquid diet. I ate mushroom soup once. and onion soup 3 times in 3 weeks. My surgery went well and my doc told me it was because I followed my pre-op well. The soup did not have barley in it. B cautious, different things affect some of us differently.
