Well there are we real different varieties of GI testing. Are you having a barium swallow, an Upper endoscopy( my current variety- facing my 8th in a few weeks) mamonetry, where they give you some contrast, and watch the speed at which you swallow, whether it is smooth or jerky. If it happens to be a EGD, an upper endoscopy, that's something I have done every 2 weeks, so I am the lay witness on this procedure. What can I explain to you?
