Hello

Hi I'm new to the site. Right now I'm going through the 6 month medical weight loss. I've done 2 months thus far. I lost 14 lbs in one week. I hope that I don't lose weight that fast. I need the surgery to keep off the weight. I saw my medical weight loss Dr for the first time last week and my dietician also. She said I needed to eat 80 gm of protein and about 140 gm of carbs since I'm diabetic. They did this test where you breathe into this machine and it calculates your resting metabolic rate. It was kind of cool! Anyway I had it in my head that I wanted to get down to 145 lbs but according to the test, I need to get down to 145 lbs! I was a little shocked. My mom is buying me a juicer so that I won't have problems with getting my protein in my body. I'm an RN too. I did a lot of research on this surgery. I just passed my psychological today also.

Welcome to the site! There is a lot of information that's not up front with all the repeat questions and stuff that gets asked, make sure to use the search feature to find stuff, there really is a lot of information floating around this site that gets buried.

Good luck with your surgery.

Welcome, You'll love it here. Great topics, questions and loads of great people. Best to you on your journey!!!

Hello and welcome! I just joined this month too after just receiving my insurance approval for surgery in November. Good luck to you as you go through the approval process-it may seem to take forever but it's worth it! :)
