Yeah, my surgery was two weeks ago and its really any liquids but mostly plain water hurts the most. It hurts in my upper abdomen area and it is a very uncomfortable feeling.

Maybe your oesophagus was grazed when the bougie was inserted down your throat? That's what my surgeon said to me shortly after my operation, when it hurt me to swallow.

it took me a few days before my body would allow me water of any sort also. Just try a little every day.

Every single time I take a very small sip of water it hurts me so bad. I don't have trouble swallowing the water it's after I swallow that starts to hurt. I have tried ice cold water, room temp, and even hot water but nothing seems to work.
