Discouraged

Hey guys. I’m new here. Just downloaded the app on my phone. Honestly I am looking for some encouragement. My weight has been stalled for a month now or just over a month. I had my surgery March 14 of this year. I’ve lost right at 40 pounds. I do think that is good but I don’t understand why I’m not losing anymore.

And since you've given no information about your diet, exercise or literally any other details...neither do we! LOL

If you'd just like some general encouragement..... I really hope things improve for you soon.

Things that might help:

Keep a food journal. Document everything you put in your mouth. It sucks and it's boring....but it's necessary.

Move more. Challenge yourself to walk more steps each week.

Don't go over 1200 calories a day.

Avoid refined foods. Avoid refined sugar.

Best wishes!

Thank you. I try to eat three meals and two snacks a day. I rarely drink anything but water. I work two jobs. I dispatch twelve hours a day and work the same evening as a cashier at a convenient store. I am at work at 5:45 in the morning and I get off at 10:30 at night on those days. The days I do not dispatch I only work at the store. I have every other Sunday completely off. Breakfast is usually a protein bar or shake. Lunch is usually cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots with ranch and turkey on one piece of whole grain bread. Dinner is usually a high protein pocket that I only eat about 3/4 of. Snacks have been beef jerky, peanuts, cashews or peanut butter with sugar free cool whip. Does this help any?

Oh I did start a food journal just yesterday.

Sounds like you're mostly on track.

I would count calories...make sure you're under 1200. Food journals are sneaky...particularly when we're busy and burning the candle at both ends....we can eat more than we think we are in little snacks on the run.

Work on getting enough sleep...so important!

Watch refined foods. I'm not sure what a protein pocket is...lol

Watch volume of nuts....those calories add up quick and they're sliders so you don't feel full.

Hang in there, and be patient:)

Thank you so much! The high protein pocket is like a lean pocket or hot pocket with more protein. I appreciate your help! Have a good day!
