Struggling with Pre-Op diet!

I am seriously struggling with the pre-op diet.....I have no problem doing a liquid only diet, except that my doctor requires a certain "kit" and I am kind of a picky eater.....(go figure) so I didn't get the chance to see what flavors/ brands I would like best. But, the shakes are the worst!! Chalky, lumpy (from powder mix) and I have to add milk instead of water, and I do not like milk (never been a milk drinker) It's a struggle for me to get even 2 down out of 5 I am supposed to have every day. I am not hungry, I can easily skip it with no problem......good news, surgery is next week. Bad news, I have 2 teenage sons who are always eating! LOL

Thanks for listening......

Congratulations on getting a surgery date. Some of the protein shakes are kind of on the gross side. I found Dymatize protein powder to be pretty good. It doesn't have a chat chalky flavor and isn't thick. It's 120 calories, 1 carb, 0 sugars per each 5-6 ounce serving. I got it in the classic chocolate flavor. It's thin when mixed with water, I don't know about with milk though. Hope you find something that works soon.

I would explore protein powders and premade drinks. They have clear ones Dymatize is personally my clear favorite. Priemer premade shakes are my milky favorite. As for powder I have yet to find one. Personally I think it’s just about the kickback they get for forcing participants to use certain ones when they require it. Sure I would try it if I didn’t like it I would get something of my choice and just make sure it meets their nutrition requirements
