Yeah it is those lessions that are important to go thru to remember to chew.

I tried the ribs again cause a girl need protein you know!! I chewed and chewed.... and it happen again PB so for me ribs, chicken nuggets, french fries and dry chicken breast are all no..no... for me I will never try these things again ...lesson learned:think

I have not had anything stuck or PB yet.

I am wide open. hopefuly I will get restriction on the 23rd with the adjustment

I had my first fill today. I have the AP Large band. I received 1.5cc of saline. It didn't hurt a bit. Was in and out in 15 minutes (from check in to check out). I am losing at a great pace. The nurse wasn't alarmed at all. In fact she told me that while they would like patient's to lose 1 to 2 lbs per week, men often lose at a faster pace. She asked if I felt I needed a fill. Not having had one, I replied that I would at least like to see how it affects me. Liquids today (not just clear either) and mushies tomorrow. The paper she gave me said that not all patients have swelling or have a touchy stomach, but just to be safe. I will go back in 2 weeks for another fill. Gotta love these bands!!!! Nothing ever worked until now. Good luck to the rest of you!!!

I had a large area around my port that was filled with fluid. (It was the size of a grapefruit.) I went to see the nurse. She drained 218 ccs of fluid from that area. Has anyone else had a problem like this? She said that it happens sometimes and it could come back. Well, it has. Share your experience if this happened to you.

Great feeling I bet.....I get my first feel on Monday the 21st......I look forward to it..(But did it hurt?)

I tried the egg and cheese part of an egg mcmuffin...It got stuck and it would not move..I tried pineapple juice but nothing would get pass it.. so up it came.. Lesson learned also.. chew chew and then chew somemore... :smile:

there was a lady in my support group that said when she was on vacation last yr. she got something stuck for the first time she suffered to 48hrs then called the dr. he told her to drink meat tenderizer to mix it with a little water and drink it, she went right to the grocery store and got some,said she had some water in there car and mixed it and drank it ,she said in the approx.3 miles to there hotel she had instant relief. so long story use meat tenderizer if you get something stuck.

Thats Weird about the fluid....

We were banded the same day.. How have you did , besides the fluid build-up?

I had my surgery on December 4th, 2007 by Dr. David Elliott in Richmond, VA. I have noticed that everyone is losing more weight than me. Please help. I have only lost 14 lbs since my surgery. Its now January 14th.

LaraTX, that sounds about average to me. I have lost 25 total. 9-10 was in the 5 days of fluids before the banding. I was banded 12/6 and I have not been doing bad at all. Have you had a fill yet and how is your eating? You should not be disappointed in anyway.
