PRE pre-op diet

Hi all! I haven’t received a date for my surgery yet, but my surgeon wants me to lose 14 pounds (5% of my body weight) before it’s scheduled. I’m supposed to eat a total of 1700 calories in 3-4 meals/day. It’s HARD getting that many calories in only a couple of meals while also eating healthy! Can anyone share your meals you eat in a day before surgery?

Most of us had liquid diets for pre-op. I was restricted to only 3 BariatricFusion shakes, some sugar free jello, watermelon and as much celery as I wanted. I would focus on the protein first and foremost (since that's kinda how things run after surgery as well)
Which surgery are you having? Because that changes things slightly.

I’m getting the sleeve done. I know that I will be on the liquid diet two weeks before surgery, but I need to lose 14 lbs before then. I’m just trying to figure out how to eat regular foods within the limitations given by my nutritionist.

You can do your best to emulate a post surgical full foods diet, 6 meals a day, focusing on proteins first, and everything else second. Cut all added sugars, coffee, soda. Make sure you are getting over 64oz of water a day. You start doing that now and not only will it be easier later, but you'll be dropping weight like you need to. Also, start exercising now as well, at least 6 hour of focused exercise. Learn to not drink while you are eating and waiting 30 mins before and after eating before drinking again.
