Pain when coughing or moving

I had my surgery May 10th but wasn't released until may 12th at night because I couldn't urinate on my own and my pain was terrible. I'm finally home but now if I cough or move a certain way I'm in pain. How long did this last for those who had the surgery? Btw I had 6 incisions.

I'm 7 days post-op and still have some pain when coughing or moving but it's greatly reduced. It will get better everyday. Make sure to take your pain meds and walk. Also, use a pillow to splint your abdomen when you have to cough or move. Basically, you hug a pillow to your abdomen. It will really help.

Lasted about a week for me

My surgery was the 10th too. I know what you are talking about because I feel the same. But today was much better than yesterday and tomorrow will be a little better too. Just hang in there in give your body some time to heal.

I had surgery done on April 25th. I had problems with coughing and movement for about a week. By maybe day 8 or 9 there is very little pain left where the incisions are. I'm now almost 3 weeks post-op and I have no pain at the incision sites at all.

Thank you all for your input . I see it varies and we all have to take it day by day.
