My mom was terrified of the surgery. She's a master in the art of worrying and guilt. LOL. So, heading into it...I made a point not to bring it up too much or expect her support because I know

It's unfortunate, but we can't control how other people react--only what decisions we make for ourselves. I don't know what my mother's reaction would have been; she was iron-willed and cut down on he

  • I hate to say this but this is your life, not your mothers. Many people change their ideas and feelings on weight loss when they see these people succeed. Try not to cry but use her dislike

Hi hun, I was just in your situation. I prayed and now my mom is supporting my decision even though she doesn't like the idea. My prayer to Jah was answered.
The thing about our mothers they are scared for their children. Try to explain to her your point of view. I didn't want to go do the surgery while my mom wasn't on board because what if something happens and I didn't get to say by or weren't on good terms with her? And thats what I told her and she turned a new leaf today and I'm so thankful. Keep trying she will understand one day. Keep your head up[emoji173]

Well it is not an easy situation, you see,i am a future surgery, person, was a daughter and am now,a,mother and grsndmother, yeah all rolled, into 1 morbidly obese package. And I can see all sides.
When I was a daughter: You are.perfectly fine the way you are, you're just a little chubby(no I was FAT) it will kill your Daddy and i if you go ahead with surgery and die. How is that for guilt?
As a wife and mother : No you're not going to have surgery, stop thinking only,in yourself, you have children to raise. More guilt!
As a grandmother: Memaw/Grandma, 2 girls, 2 different titles.
Why do you want to do something silly, like that? You're old, you'll probably die anyway, that will serve you, right!
Grandaughter#1 Memaw I've got, nothing to wear when you die.Are you going to be buried next to Papaw or are you going to be buried with Great grandma and Great grandpa?
Grandaughter#2: Grandma I'm in college, I don't have time to come home for a funeral. Besides Mommy says you're being selfish and silly, shes right!
Mean while I do have, the support of their uncle, my son. sHe understands this is good for me, the right thing for me, he is upbeat about it all. If he's scared for me he hasn't said,so. Indeed, when I think this is all too, hard, he cheers me on, says you're not too old, you're plenty healthy enough, you're my best friend and I love you so much. You're going to be just fine & I'm proud of you.?&?going towards surgery ?soon!

WOW... you have a very discouraging situation there... I don't even know what to say on this one..
