Portion sizes

Hey everyone, I’m three weeks post op. I’m on soft foods. For dinner I had 3 ounces of ham plus 2 ounces of sweet potato. I think I inadvertently overate. At this stage am I supposed to only be eating 1/4 cup of food per meal? I really don’t want to mess this up.

That’s sounds like probably a little more than you should be comfortable eating, but everyone is different. I guess the question is did you get so full it caused pressure and nausea? If not you are fine if it did go smaller till you are further along. Either way you really don’t have to worry about it causing anything other than short term discomfort.

I did have a little pressure but no nausea. I guess I’ll try less next time. Yes, ham is on my list!

Oh cool! I’m 1 month post op trying new things. So far only issues with scrambled eggs. Try eating less next time! It’s all about trial and error

Make sure to eat slowly. Put your fork down in between bites. You can easily over-eat if you do it too fast. Your brain needs time to talk to your stomach to tell it that you are full.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
