hello first time post, so i need some help with Vitamins. ive been taking a Multivitamin Gummy, i got approval from my doctor because i was seriously unable to take a chew able. i am now far out enough from surgery to take pills. im looking for a multivitamin pill that is good for gastric sleeve patients since i need to take it with food and eating a gummy or a chewable makes my food taste gross. also i have a question with Vitamin B12. i get monthly shots of vitamin b12 but i was wondering if it would be necessary to take a daily vitamin b12 as well (probably should just wait to see if im deficient in it right?) anyway thank you!

According to my surgeons directions for sleeve patients, they were required to take:

500 to 1000 micrograms sublingual B12 weekly or 1000 mcg IM injection once monthly.

So if you are getting monthly injections, you are fine. For me I found that the sublingual tablets were much easier and less painful to take. It is also less of a hassle to take the tablets instead of the shots because as I recall the shots required a prescription.

Hi there, I seem to have researched this Vitamin thing to death. I ended up Taking the Celebrate Complete Multivitamin. It contains B12 at 500mcg.

It is very complete and I have to take supplements of Calcium, Iron and Magnesium to get all the recommended supplements. You can get the multivitamin and iron in a combined form, but I chose to separate them.

The multivitamin comes in 3 forms: A chewy form in multiple flavors, very good tasting, but cost the most.

Then it comes in the Capsules or chewable tablets. These cost the same. I chose the chewable tablets as I really like 2 of the 3 flavors available. Best deal seems to be from Celebrate website. I also use their chewable Iron+C and Calcium Plus 500 (Citrate)

Good Luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
