Stricture and post op complications

How do you know if you have this? What other post op complications are common? I’m traveling for this, so I will stay in town a full three days following surgery. Hopefully any issues will be apparent by then.

Nothing much will be apparent in three days except whether you can sip liquids. I had a swallow test 24 hours after surgery as a check for leaks. Strictures most likely would not be apparent yet unless extreme.

Do a lot of reading on this forum and other online bariatric education sites. Good luck.

Elsee, you need to have someone near your home who is willing to do your follow up care. Someone you can all in case of emergency, or if you have concerns. Complications are not super common, but they do occur. Sometimes weeks and months down the road. Do your research to make sure you're prepared.
