Timeline Pre-op Diet through surgery date

I was wondering... This is more geared towards United Health Care patients and those required to follow the 6 month medically supervised diet for their insurance company.

At what point will the surgeon's team submit for approval. Do they need to wait till you finish the 6 months? I swore I heard my coordinator say they will submit around the 4 month mark. If that is the case, if approved does that mean I might be able to have surgery sooner rather than later?

Looking for real experiences. I know I can call my doctor's office and ask, but its very busy over there and would rather get some real world examples.

Thanks!

Rob
