Cannot get enough calories post op! Help!

My dietician/doctor want me getting 1200 calories/60 grams of protein per day w/this liquid post op diet!! I can't get enough! I'm at 400-600 but that seems to be as much as I can tolerate. Everything I eat is supposed to be sugar free, so I cannot get enough. The strained cream soups don't help enough either, and I can't make myself eat those EVERY meal. I've tried shakes, pudding, soup, ect. Any suggestions guys?

:faint:

I was just banded on Wednesday and was told after 3 days that I can drink any kind of juice. Try sipping 100% vegetable juice. The kind I have has 7g of protein per serving. I am no expert, but just trying to follow orders as best as I can. I am already sick of sipping! Best of luck!

My Bariatric Center gave me these guidelines:

Phase I (liquids for 1 - 2 weeks post op) approximates 300 calories per day.

Phase II (soft food/pureed for 2 - 4 weeks post op) calls for 600 calories and 30+ grams of Protein.

Phase III (Regular consistency at 4 - 6 weeks post op) 1,000 to 1,200 calories per day with 60+ grams of protein

I'm surprised that your surgeon expects that...
