Pre-Approved by Insurance

So i just got the letter in the mail today from my insurance company that they pre-approved me for the sleeve and I am beyond thrilled. This news couldn’t have come at a better time. Now i need to make the appointment with the surgeon as to what the next steps are. My insurance is different because it’s through my school I had to get all this pre-approved before I could even meet the surgeon because then i could risk them not paying all together. Any advice on what the next steps would be? How long also was everyone in the hospital and what days do you recommend doing the surgery if i have an option? And how long were you out of work? I’m in grad school as well so I am trying to figure this all out but not wait too long putting this off.

Good luck with it all - remember we are all here for you.

I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work on the following Tuesday. If I could do it again I would probably do it on a Wednesday so I could go back on the following Monday but it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

I also had my gallbladder removed at the same time as the sleeve. Just remember not to overdo it and to take care of your self
