Just Getting Started - Questions

I am just getting started on investigating the lap band and have a couple of questions.

1. How does one go about choosing the right doctor. I have been on the website and seen which doctors in the area have been certified. Does anyone know where do you go to see their success rates and if they have any compliants, etc.

2. Would you all suggest going to a seminar or just straight to the Doctor?

Thanks.

hey there allicdoesit...welcome to LBT! I am not banded yet but I have my consultation coming up in Nov. What state are you in? Most doctors require that you attend a seminar prior to coming in to see them. I found that this is a great place to find a dr because you actually get to talk to their patients and such. Hope it helps and good luck!! Hope to talk to you more on here!

Just from here on the site and then with a friend I have met recently who was banded, I would ask the surgeon how many fills his average patient has. My new friend has had 3 since June 1 07 and my surgeon was more aggressive and his average patient would only have two. I only had to have two to lose 125 lbs.
