And the wait begins

Hubby and I completed our 6-month medically supervised weight loss, and now we wait for insurance approval. I'm so anxious!

How long did it take to get your approval?

10 days:) And my group gave me a surgery date before the approval letter came. It was an insurance company they've worked with, so they went ahead and scheduled. (BCBS Michigan)

I called after it had been a month and it had been approved. I called the surgeon to tell them I’d completed all the necessary steps before I went om vacation, so I wasn’t staring at the phone waiting for it to ring or anything.

Remember that your surgeon may not submit the request for pre-approval the day you call them and tell them you’ve done everything, there may be some lag time there. .

Depends on your insurance, in my case it was pretty much immediate, maybe a day or two.
