I was told to take stool softeners to avoid constipation once I started the full liquid stage (soups and such). Apparently that can become a chronic issue in sleevers because of all the protein.

I had my surgery Dec 11 and I actually purchased a cook book that had a recipe for a smoothie that really helped me. It has pear, Apple, spinach, avocado, almond milk and a splash of oj. It's delicious and has really helped me.

End up at er it is not apendiside but where the stables are it is so crump and soer but no infection, just pain. Anyone had anything like that? I am on my 7 day of sleeve. I don’t know if I over did. This didn’t start until 3 days after and I thought was gas pain.

Also sleeved 12th of December
I purchased smooth move tea and Phillips stool softener worked perfectly

I was sleeved on 12/12 also!!
That was a Tuesday and I didn’t have a bm until that Saturday same week. Colace works well also

The doctor's office told me to lay off the protein shakes until I have a BM. (Also sleeved on the 18th!) But now I'm hungry, still constipated, and frankly scared to [emoji90] because it hurts around my wounds...
Has anyone tried using magnesium citrate after surgery? I still have some left from pre-op...

sleeved same day no movement told Benefiber which causes me gas. Flaxseed told to try. No luck.

Was just sleeved this past Tuesday! Recovery has been great but uh... when and how do I poop?

Hi MissCasey,

I was sleeved on 12/18, and am having the same issue. The PA who called to check on me after i got home suggested Miramax powder. I've added it to my Crystal Light for the past 2 days. It's supposed to work by the 3rd day. Keeping my fingers crossed. [emoji4]

What was the pear, Apple, spinach, milk? All pureed real pear, apple? or juice?
