Just get the yellow pages out and look at your local hospitals. Call them up and they will tell you who does the surgery. Meet with each one and get patient referrals.

You would only want to go abroad if you wanted a really experienced surgeon and to save money. The docs around here have way less experience than my surgeon I chose in Mexico. But docs here in the US are just as good, they've been trained, too.

Hi! I researched in FL and VA (I have family in FL and visit there a lot, but live in NOVA right now), then researched some of the doctors in Mexico. I was self-pay also. I chose Ready4AChange in Monterrey not just because of the price (WAY cheaper!) but because of the experience the dr had. I had excellent care in a super hospital and the hotel was nice with wonderful people. You just need to read up on all the drs qualifications before you decide. There are a couple of good drs at hospitals in Pensacola and Orlando. Good luck. Laura
