My doc said nothing by mouth after 12 midnight, the night before surgery. They said i should never chew gum again because it may cause extra air to get in my tummy and may cause gas. I know plenty of people including my mom who is like 5 years out chews gum like a champ. Congratulations!!!!!!!

I just spoke to my nutritionist yesterday about gum and she told me that sugar free gum is perfectly fine. I am 3 months post op so I am not sure at what point they say it is ok, but she said it is fine.
