surgery time frame

I received a referral from my doctor due to several conditions plus a reoccuring chronic wound on my leg. the wound is mostly

caused by my weight and venous disease would the surgery be considered to be a quick turn around or would I still need to go through dietician and six months scheduling

I have also been taking phentermine for three months and have lost no weight. so I'm hoping the phentermine would be considered a diet regimen...help
