Hi,
I had my cardiologist appt for pre-op requirement yesterday. The cardiologist was very nice but she didn't understand why I (or anyone) would get any kind of bariatric surgery. She is a young woman, very slim and tiny and was trying to talk me out of the surgery. She told me that all I have to do is stop eating sweets and don't eat after 5pm, then each month give up another food. For example, month one, give up rice, month two give up pasta.
I listened to her but she really didn't have a clue about what we go through. After she was done, I told her that everything she said would be great if one could do it.
She did give me some good tips on exercise but when I told her I go to the gym 5 x a week she told me to increase it to 6 x a week. I decided to dismiss what she was saying because I know that although she is a specialist, she really doesn't understand what overweight people go through.
