Red jello day before surgery

Okay so I posted a picture of my strawberry jello for tomorrow's pre-surgery day of clear liquids and someone commented they weren't allowed red liquids before surgery. My doctor did not specify. Did anyone have red jello before surgery? Or were you told to avoid it? I'll call my doc's office in the morning, but wondering your experience. Thanks!

I'm not sure if I was told that this time, but I've heard it before other surgeries. You're better off with lemon or maybe lime--just for that one day. After surgery it won't matter which flavor of jello you choose.

Good luck!

I was told nothing red or dark colored when it came to jello or sf ice pops. They said only select light colors. Maybe it stains your insides-possibly making it harder for them to see if something is bleeding.
