1 year out

Recommended Posts

Today is 1 year out for me. 365 days ago I was trying to sleep and being woken up by a nurse every 90 minutes.

Now I here I am at 161, down from 285. I hit a low of 157.4, which worries me what with gaining a little.

A few things I've noticed: 1) I can eat quite a bit without much discomfort, 2) I definitely get hungry, in some ways more so than before, and 3) I don't think it's possible to maintain the rigidity of the initial diet forever, and I need to figure out the lifetime maintenance part.

What about others 1 year out? What have you learned? How was your journey?

I am 21 months out and have settled down to an eating plan that feels good to me. There are thing I will more than likely never eat again and somethings that I eat in moderation. I always keep Protein in my frig and/or pantry. I'm not driven by numbers but clothes size. I have lost between 113-115 and it's comfortable for me to maintain. I was fortunate to have a surgeon and a medical team that never mentioned a target number.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
