Travel question

So if everything looks good after my EGD on August 18th my Doctor can get me into surgery on the 25th. The thing is I already have a trip to Paris planned, and paid for. Will be leaving on September 12th. The nurse I talked to said I should be fine, but I'm not sure 2 weeks will be enough time to recover. Has anyone else travelled that soon after?

  • I was in a similar situation with family plans and trips so I postponed my surgery till after to allow for the best healing and self care. Go to Paris and then come home and prep and focus on healing.

  • I personally would not have had the energy to enjoy a vacation like that. I never took pain meds once I left the hospital, but I was very nauseous for 5 days, dizzy for about 14 days, and no energy, I

I'm in a similar situation. I have a cruise planned mid September. I could have had surgery anytime this month but chose to postpone my surgery for a week and a half after I get back from the cruise. I'm sure I could have managed and still had fun but lets be honest....I already purchased the drink package...I'm obligated to not let that go to waste! [emoji6] I'm super happy with my decision. I can fully enjoy my trip then come home and get ready for the big day. By the time I'm ready for my next vacation, I'll be adapted to my new WLS life style.
PS When I visited Paris, I walked around like crazy. All the museums and sites and not to mention all the delicious carbs!!! I'm glad you are postponing your trip! I would have been sad for you if you hadn't hahaha. Good luck and have fun!!

Yes! Can't let those drinks go to waste! And just think next vacation you will feel and look fabulous! That's what I keep telling myself. Good luck to you too! Have fun on your cruise!

I went on vacation at 6 weeks but out was relaxing at the beach and was fine. But I had no energy at 2 weeks. At that point I was still trying to drink enough. I'd ask them if they can put you on the schedule for right after your trip.
