August 10, 20178 yr My surgeon is requiring me to do a 3 week liquid preop diet. I was mentally prepared for 2 weeks not 3. I think I'm going to die lol. No but seriously this is going to be hard. Does anyone else have to do 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks?Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr Author That's what I thought. But they insisted I do 3 weeks. My nutritionist put in big caps on my paper DO NOT CHEAT.. lol so I guess I got to stick with it. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr Good Luck! I am nervous about officially starting tomorrow. I have been trying it out this week just during breakfast and lunch and I was so hungry.

August 10, 20178 yr Author Thank you, good luck to you too. That's what I'm afraid of. I asked my nutritionist about what I can take for hunger headaches. He said "Ohh you'll be fine. You won't get hungry becomes you'r drinking protein" I'm like dude I'm going to be starving lol. I wish you all the best of luck though. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr It's funny how doctors differ. I have to do 3 weeks of no carbs and no fats. I have to do 2 days of clear liquids before surgery. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr Author Yep. That is so crazy. Mine is 4 protein shake a day, 64oz of water and dinner is a low calorie frozen meal like a healthy choice dinner. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr I thought you said you had to do a liquid diet for 3 weeks? Doesn't that mean only liquids? Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr Author You know that's a good question. But I guess all Dr. Are different. My nutritionist considers that to be there "liquid diet" I'm guessing because it's all liquid for the Entire day with one small meal. So I guess with it being majority liquid then it's still a liquid diet. I have no clue lol. All I know is I'm still going to be starving regardless lol.Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr Hopefully it won't be too bad. Just try to stay focused on the end goal. I am not looking forward to 3 week liver shrink diet, but I have to do it. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
August 10, 20178 yr I feel you. I only had a 2 week preop, but with post op I will have 5 weeks of liquid diet altogether. Im in my 3rd week right now and its definitely challenging, but gets easier after the first week. The frozen meals will help! Good luck to you
August 10, 20178 yr I love reading about everyone else's experiences. I start my liquid diet on 8/16 and surgery is 8/30. I have two weeks of liquid protein diet before surgery. And just like others have said, NO CHEATING for me either. I'm going in to this hovering 300 pounds and I am ready to get that number down. I already quit smoking which was so hard for me. But we can do this guys!!! Good luck to you all!!
