Frustrated

I started my journey 2 yrs ago. I had my surgery date of 7/31/15. I had to cancel it due to the death of my son on 7/29/15*I was an emotional wreck. I went into state of depression, being type 2 diabetic my A1C escalated to 13! Now 2yrs later I'm back on track A1C down to 8.8 but they won't give me a surgery date. Just feel defeated by the system at this point [emoji22]

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. That is an incredibly difficult cross to bear. Please don't beat yourself up for struggling with your depression and eating habits for awhile, that is completely understandable. *big hugs*

Could you give us more details about your bariatric program? Is it your insurance or your surgeon with the hold up? Do you have any pre-surgery requirements to do? Let us know.

I was 1st told my A1C was too high so I worked deligently to get it down to 8.8 now my endo says that is good but we can do better, the nutritionist still has to give her approval she is new to the scenario as the previous dietician is no longer in the bariatric department. Now I have to meet the surgeon whom I never met before they scheduled my 1st surgery date. My insurance with whom I am also employed BSCSIL, has been nothing but a great experience. I am tired of the hoops I keep having to jump through at this point. I wanted to be farther than this with my son anniversary coming. Trying to stay focused. [emoji19]

They might want you to redo a few tests/ requirements since they were last done a few years ago. I have the same insurance as you, and I know they told me some of the test results "expire". For instance, I had to do another ekg since the last one was done 12 months ago. Everything will work out, I know it's easier said than done. Keep working towards your goal- WLS! I will be thinking of you and your family as your son's anniversary is coming up.

Hugs!
