I don't want to risk screwing up the diet and possibly having to reschedule the surgery or getting dehydrated and sick.

You do make sense but I am feeling very guilty, I never miss fasting, when I asked the dietitian she suggested I do the liquid diet after breaking fast, I will be travelling for my surgery and don't want to spoil it either, I am so confused?!
