  1. Omgggg I know!!! How's your pre-op diet going? I'm so excited/nervous/anxious!
  2. Yay another member with the same surgery date!! (7/5/17) One week and 2 nights left!! Starting to get super anxious now!
  3. I've never heard this... I mean they operate on patients with tattoos. Unless your mehndi is on your abdomen [emoji23] I don't see how it would be an issue.
  4. Congratulations!! I just started my pre-op diet today!! I was in the same boat regarding second thoughts because of unsupportive people in my life. But, like you, I had to remind myself that this was for *me* and *my* future! Regarding the unflavored protein, I plan on adding it to unsweetened jello for non-alcoholic jello shots. I'm also going to be making bone broth this weekend, so I'll add some to that as well. Or store bought veggie organic broth?
  5. Yes GNC has it online and I'm not sure if they have it in store. But I know for sure The Voice Shoppe has them in store. Also, they currently have a sale where if you purchase any isopure product, the second is half off. So I just purchased 2 of the 3lb unflavored protein powder!
  6. Hey guys and gals!!! My surgery date is coming up soon and I've decided to document my journey! I've created an instagram account and would love to follow others that have already been on this journey (Post-op members) or those who are pre-op as well! Please PM me your IG id or share it here! [emoji106] Or if you know of any wls ig accounts that are motivational, please share those as well. [emoji173]️
  7. I'm so sorry you went thru that As you're well aware, there are risks with every procedure. But try to focus on the rewards you'll get from this one!! Good luck! I hope you have a smooth and speedy recovery! [emoji173]️
  8. July 5th!! Starting my 2 week pre op diet on the 20th [emoji322]
  9. This. I love everything about this. Jazak Allah Khair [emoji173]️
  10. Fat free doesn't necessarily mean sugar free.
  11. Hehe I was expecting to get a date for mid to late June so July 5th was alright for me too! My insurance really dragged their feet otherwise I could have had an earlier date. Can't wait for surgery day!! I've started stocking up on protein shakes and other approved stuff for the liquid pre-op/ 1st week of post op diets!
  12. Thank you!! And congrats to you!! I know. I have been seeing June and July dates all around the 5th but have only come across 2 other members having their procedure on the 5!!
  13. Information seminar: 10/4/2016 Initial consultation: 10/25/2016 6 months of insurance required hoops to jump thru Surgery scheduled for 7/5/2017 So exactly 9 months.
  14. My surgery is scheduled for July 5th as well [emoji322] we're surgery buddies! I have a 2 week pre-op diet starting 20th of June.
  15. These are fantastic!! Thank you ladies for sharing! Keep them coming [emoji126][emoji126]
  16. Most YouTube videos I've seen of "what's in my hospital bag" have bath or house robes or strapless flowy dresses. Anything that won't touch or irritate the surgical sites.
  17. Sigh... That's very true. I guess I'm just being paranoid! Thank you both for talking some sense into me lol I would love to be home and in my bed, I just don't want something to go wrong [emoji85]
  18. You have a 3 week pre-op diet? ?
  19. *Pre-Op and recent Post-Op members:* - What (physical and/ or non-physical) changes are you mostly looking forward to? - What are your non-weight (#) related goals? _____________________________________________ *Veteran Post-Op members:* - Same questions but past tense ;-p - Have you met those non-weight goals?
  20. Walaikum Asalam Pre-op diets vary from provider to provider, and are generally based on the type of surgery you're having and your overall health (I believe). Some surgeons require 2 weeks, some require 1. Some don't even have a "pre-op" diet other than full liquids the day before surgery.
  21. But when are you getting your water in? My surgeon expects me to get 64+ ounces of water in daily... I can't imagine doing that before suhoor and after iftaar. [emoji29] I feel guilty... But I truly don't think I'd be able to get into ketosis unless I followed the diet my nutritionist/ surgeon provided.
  22. Thank you! That makes me feel a little better. I should know better. I'm just nervous.
  23. I actually just posted this a couple days ago but I guess I posted in the wrong section... But my nurse told me I will most likely be staying over night! My surgery is scheduled for 12:30pm, and I'll probably check out around 8am the next morning. Kind of panicking because I'm not sure that's enough time!!
