No pre liquid diet?

Hi everyone. I've been a lurker soaking in everyone's advice and support. Finally got approval and date and was told I would not do a liquid diet prior to surgery. Has anyone else experienced this??

Thanks so much!!

Since I lost 100 pounds during my six month pre-op diet program, my surgeon didn't require me to do a pre-op liquid diet. I did it for 3 days pre-op of my own accord to help me get in the liquid minds

The only thing my doc required was 24 hours of clear liquids before surgery.

I didn't have to do the liquid pre-op diet.

For 2 weeks before surgery, I did a low carb, low fat diet and was allowed either chicken, eggs, or fish for my proteins. My meat portions were weighed out to 3 ounces. I was allowed a small portion of non-starchy veggies with lunch and dinner. I was also allowed a protein shake a day.

The only time I had to do all clear liquids was the day prior to surgery.

Everyone's plan is a little different, it just depends on the surgeon.

Mine is the same as this

Since I lost 100 pounds during my six month pre-op diet program, my surgeon didn't require me to do a pre-op liquid diet. I did it for 3 days pre-op of my own accord to help me get in the liquid mindset as I knew I was going to have to do it for 3 weeks post-op.

I'm on my pre-op diet now, which only requires staying under 40g of carbs/day and getting in 60-80g of protein. I was surprised to hear that was my surgeon's requirement because I expected liquids, but I'm glad for it! All of the protein is giving me ideas for what I might want in high rotation after surgery.

The only thing my doc required was 24 hours of clear liquids before surgery.
